6.2 Platform LSF Patch 62plsf02 for HPUX Before Downloading: This document contains the information needed to install the Platform LSF Patch that addresses the issue documented in SAS sasnote 33795 (http://support.sas.com/kb/33/795.html). Important note: You must be logged in as root to install this patch successfully. Installation details: 1. Create a backup version of LSF_TOP/6.0/*/etc/lim where “*” is your specific host installation directory name, such as hppa11-64 2. Go to http://ftp.sas.com/techsup/download/hotfix/platformpatch.html and download 62plsf02h6.tar.Z. If the UNIX machine does not have Internet access, download the file to a machine that does have access, and copy it to your UNIX server. 3. Extract the contents of the downloaded file: uncompress -c 62plsf02h6.tar | tar -xf - The contents of the tar file, lim6.2_hppa11-64 will be placed in the 62plsf02 subdirectory. 4. Copy new binary /62plsf02/lim to LSF_TOP/6.0/*/etc/lim 5. chmod 755 LSF_TOP/6.0/*/etc/lim (on the new module) 6. Open the LSF_TOP/conf/lsf.conf configuration file and add two parameters. a) LSF_DISABLE_SENDMAIL_4LIC_OVERUSE=y. The auditing feature in LSF is not relevant to SAS OEM license, so we use this parameter to disable all the license related email in customer site. b) LSF_LICENSE_NOTIFICATION_INTERVAL=1. This parameter sets the interval for email to be sent out. The default is 24 hours. Set this value to 1 hour so you don't have to wait 24 hours to see this license overuse email. 7. Restart lim process (lsadmin limstartup) This completes the installation of the platform patch 62plsf02 on HPUX. If you have any questions about this process, please contact SAS Technical Support.
