Hot fix M58001 addresses the issue(s) in SAS Web Parts for Microsoft SharePoint 6.11 on Windows for x64 as documented in the Issue(s) Addressed section of the hot fix download page:

The hot fix downloaded,, contains the updated files required to address the documented issues.


  1. You must have SAS Web Parts for Microsoft SharePoint 6.1 or 6.11 installed on your system before applying this hot fix. Refer to SN-35968 for instructions on how to determine which product releases you have installed.

  2. Files delivered in this hot fix will be backed up during the installation process. However, it is good general practice to back up your system before applying updates to software.

  3. You must have Administrator Privileges on your CLIENT or SERVER machine.

  4. All currently active SAS sessions, daemons, spawners and servers must be terminated before applying this hot fix.


The M58001 hot fix for SAS Web Parts for Microsoft SharePoint 6.11 will be installed using the SAS Deployment Manager (SDM). By default, the SDM will search in the <SASHOME>\InstallMisc\HotFixes\New directory for hot fixes to be applied, but will also prompt for a location if you have downloaded hot fixes to a different directory.

After downloading, follow the instructions for applying hot fixes in the SAS Deployment Wizard and SAS Deployment Manager 9.4: User's Guide.

The file <SASHOME>\SASWebPartsforMicrosoftSharePoint\6.11\Config\SAS.WebParts.wsp and SASWebPartsModule.psm1 will be installed during the installation of M58001. To successfully complete the deployment of this hot fix the following steps must be performed.
  1. Start a 'SharePoint 2010 or 2013 Management Shell' session on your SharePoint server and change directories to :
    \<Config-dir>\Lev(n)\Applications\SAS Web Parts for Microsoft SharePoint\6.x
    where x will be 1 or 11 depending on the web parts version installed

  2. If you have the 6.1 version of the web parts, you will need to edit Install-SASWebParts.ps1. Modify
    the line below to include the –Upgrade option to the end
    Change - $exitCode = Install-SASWebParts -url $SiteUrl -app $WebApp -svc $ServiceUrl -server $ServerName -P $Port -id $SASTrust -pw $Password -ImpID $ImpID -PackageFile $PackageFile -ProfileName $profileName -Verbose:$Verbose

    To - $exitCode = Install-SASWebParts -url $SiteUrl -app $WebApp -svc $ServiceUrl -server $ServerName -P $Port -id $SASTrust -pw $Password -ImpID $ImpID -PackageFile $PackageFile -ProfileName $profileName -Verbose:$Verbose –Upgrade

    Also verify that all of the variables listed in the files (denoted by starting with a $) are still correct for your install.

  3. Run iisreset to make sure all SharePoint processes are not holding onto any resources.
  4. Make a copy of saswebparts.wsp and saswebpartsmodule.psm1 to a backup location.
  5. Copy the new saswebparts.wsp and saswebpartsmodule.psm1 that were installed via the hotfix install to this directory.

  6. Run .\Install-SASWebParts.ps1 to install the hotfix
  7. When above step is complete, run get-SASInstallStatus and verify the following
