Installation Instructions for Hot Fix E3X001

Solaris for x64


Hot fix E3X001 addresses the issue(s) in CGI Tools for the Web Server 9.45 on Solaris for x64 as documented in the Issue(s) Addressed section of the hot fix download page:

Refer to SN-35968 for instructions on how to determine which product releases you have installed.

Download and save E3X001pt.zip hot fix file. It contains the updated files required to address the documented issues.

Do NOT extract the contents of E3X001pt.zip. The hot fix installation process extracts the contents as needed.


IMPORTANT NOTES

  1. You must have CGI Tools for the Web Server 9.45 installed on your system before applying this hot fix.

  2. You must have Administrator privileges on your CLIENT or SERVER machine.

  3. All currently active SAS sessions, daemons, spawners, and servers must be terminated before applying this hot fix.

  4. This hot fix should be installed using the same userid that was used to perform the initial software installation.

  5. No automatic configuration scripting is included for this hot fix. If you have previously configured software installed, the SAS Deployment Manager may present a screen where you will see "Apply SAS Hot Fixes" and "Configure SAS Hot Fixes" options. On this screen, you must ensure that the "Configure SAS Hot Fix" option is *not* selected. If this option is automatically selected, please de-select it prior to proceeding with the SAS Deployment Manager screens. Failure to do so could have unintended consequences when applying this hot fix.


INSTALLATION

The E3X001 hot fix for CGI Tools for the Web Server 9.45 will be installed using the SAS Deployment Manager. By default, the SAS Deployment Manager searches the <SASHOME>/InstallMisc/HotFixes/New directory for hot fixes to be applied, but also prompts for a location if you have downloaded hot fixes to a different directory.

Download the E3X001pt.zip to the <SASHOME>/InstallMisc/HotFixes/New directory. Then follow the instructions for applying hot fixes in the "Finding and Applying Hot Fixes" section of the SAS Deployment Wizard and SAS Deployment Manager 9.4: User's Guide.

Please review the note above concerning proper selection of the "Configure SAS Hot Fix" option in the SAS Deployment Manager.

POST-INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

  1. To preserve customizations to the files on your web server machine, back up the following files in the directory corresponding to the <web_server_root>/sasweb/IntrNet9/htmSQL location before proceeding:

    autovars.hsql

    /data_sources/dsrclibs.hsql
    /data_sources/dsrctables.hsql
    /data_sources/libtables.hsql
    /data_sources/tablecols.hsql

    /movies/add.hsql
    /movies/delete.hsql
    /movies/form.hsql
    /movies/list.hsql
    /movies/update.hsql

  2. To complete the installation of this hot fix, you must manually copy files listed in the previous step from the installation directory, <SASHOME>/CGIToolsForTheWebServer/9.4/websrv/sasweb/IntrNet9/htmSQL, to the directory on your web server machine corresponding to the <web_server_root>/sasweb/IntrNet9/htmSQL location.

  3. If customizations were made in the original files on your web server machine, then the customizations need to be made in the updated files.

  4. Once the hot fix is installed and the files are copied to the web server machine, the setup instructions included with the samples (installed as part of the initial deployment) can be followed.

As a reminder, these are sample files that are being installed and should not affect the functionality of your system.
